Trip Highlights

Itinerary

Your experience begins in the early afternoon, around 2:00 p.m. You can either arrive directly at our traditional Mayan palapa in the Muyil community—the heart of our cooperative—or request round-trip transportation from your hotel in Tulum or the Riviera Maya (available upon request for an additional cost). Our team will confirm all details in advance. Itineraries are subject to change.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our friendly team and enjoy a freshly prepared traditional Mayan lunch made with local ingredients. Meet your guide, learn about our cooperative’s mission in sustainable and regenerative tourism, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable afternoon navigating the Sian Ka’an Biosphere. Itineraries are subject to change.

Board our long-tail boat and glide across the interconnected lagoons of Muyil, Chunyaxché, and Capelchén, each revealing a unique mosaic of ecosystems. Your local guide will share stories of ancient Mayan navigation, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. Along the way, you may spot aquatic birds and other wildlife that call these pristine waters home. Itineraries are subject to change.

Arrive at Xlapak, a sacred Mayan site that once served as a customs post and astral observatory. From here, immerse yourself in a 950-meter floating experience through a tranquil ancient canal. Let the gentle current carry you as you drift between orchids, bromeliads, and mangroves—a meditative encounter with the timeless beauty of Sian Ka’an. Itineraries are subject to change.

Continue through Capelchén lagoon toward Boca Paila, where the lagoon meets the Caribbean Sea. This is one of the most spectacular points of the tour, where fresh and saltwater converge. It’s possible to spot manatees, crocodiles, and various bird species in their natural habitat. Enjoy the breathtaking coastal views before beginning your return journey. Itineraries are subject to change.

As you head back through the lagoons, the sun begins to set, illuminating the water with shades of gold, pink, and violet. The return at dusk is pure magic—birds flying home, reflections dancing on the lagoon, and a deep sense of peace. Upon request, you may enjoy a glass of wine during the journey, making it perfect for couples or private groups. Once back at our palapa, you’ll have a moment to relax before departing or returning to your hotel. Itineraries are subject to change.
