Itinerary

Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Tulum (downtown or hotel zone). Enjoy a scenic drive to our cooperative’s Mayan palapa, where your adventure will officially begin. The pick-up time is around 6:00 a.m. Itineraries are subject to change.

Arrive at our palapa and enjoy a warm welcome with a freshly prepared traditional Mayan breakfast made from local, organic ingredients. This is the perfect way to energize before heading out on your kayak journey. Itineraries are subject to change.

After breakfast, we’ll take you in comfortable transport to the Muyil lagoon dock, the starting point for your kayak exploration through the stunning Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. Itineraries are subject to change.

Receive your kayak equipment and safety briefing from our expert guides. Set off on a serene paddle through the lagoon waters, stopping at strategic points along the way to learn about the diverse ecosystems, flora, and fauna, tailored to the group’s pace and weather conditions. Set off on your kayak, gliding through the serene waters of the lagoon. Your guide will select strategic stops based on weather and group dynamics, allowing you to immerse in the local ecosystem and observe native flora and fauna. If conditions permit, paddle through the ancient Mayan canal — a historic waterway once used for trade — connecting the lagoons and offering a unique glimpse into Mayan ingenuity. Conclude your kayak adventure with transport back to our palapa, where you’ll savor a delicious traditional Mayan lunch prepared with fresh, local ingredients. This final moment celebrates the rich culture and supports the wellbeing of the local community. Itineraries are subject to change.

Gratuity not included and would strongly recommend bringing cash. Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve federal entry fee not included (MX$218 / approx. US$12 per person), collected by CONANP to support conservation. Pay on arrival at our cooperative’s palapa (card or cash).

Not Suitable For

Pets (protected area regulations), unaccompanied elderly, and pregnant women in their final 6 weeks of pregnancy due to kayak movement risks. This activity involves moderate physical exertion and is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

Bring sunglasses, a hat, a long-sleeve sun shirt for extra sun protection, biodegradable sunscreen, towel, swimwear, change of clothes, and a non-plastic reusable water bottle.

Alcohol, drugs, drones, vaping, smoking, regular sunscreen, and plastic bottles are not allowed. Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted on the tour.
